Do I need to sign up?
Not to start: open the planner and design, no account needed. A free account is what saves your plans to the cloud across devices and lets you share a read-only link, and is what premium, once it exists, will sit behind.
Why there is a daily allowance
Yard scans, sketch reading and photo renders each run on a paid service, so together they have a daily allowance: 6 a day, 30 with a free account. When you reach it you can keep designing; those three come back the next day.
Your gardens stay yours either way: export any of them as a project file, with or without an account. Photo renders are illustrations. Before you buy materials or plants, check measurements against your plan and the seller’s specifications.
